Bedford Wedding Photographer Celebrates 2023: A Fantastic Year of Weddings

Oh wow, what a fantastic year 2023 has been. This Bedford Wedding Photographer has travelled far and wide over the last year. I’ve worked with some amazing couples and enjoyed the company of their friends and family. In addition to this, I’ve worked with some fantastic wedding suppliers.

2023 Highlights

It’s impossible to decide what my favourite highlights have been, as they have been so varied.  From a gorgeous marquee in the grounds of the beautiful Braxted Park, to the small and intimate surrounds of the Little Channels Barn Venue. It’s just too hard to call.

Perhaps I’ll talk about some stand out moments that really cement the fact that I truly have the best job in the world.

A First for this Bedford Wedding Photographer

Top of my 2023 list, experiencing my first Jewish Wedding at the sublime South Farm. Meeting and working with Stacey & Saul was such a pleasure. They took a risk booking a photographer who had never shot a Jewish wedding before. However, we worked very closely together prior to the big day. They took the time to teach and coach me through the ceremony and what the significance of each stage means. I felt honoured, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such wild and fun dancing as the Israeli dancing.

Neigh…bours!

One of the many highlights is the wedding of Sheena & Dan at Notley Tythe Barn. The weather was stunning. I had a vision of photographing some beautiful couples portraits, with the old barn in the background. However, there were horses in the field. Fortunately, the fabulous wedding planner arranged for them to be moved to a different field, phew! Braving the horse manure, Sheena & Dan posed perfectly for some truly dramatic images. In fact, I was a runner up for a photography award with Weddisson, thanks to their special day. Something I’m very proud of.

The Weather can’t stop this Bedford Wedding Photographer

Another memorable highlight from 2023 was on a very wet day in July at The Perch in Oxford. The wedding ceremony was in Oxford City Centre and we walked, in the pouring rain to catch boats to the reception venue. By the time we arrived, the sky had cleared and the sun shone bright just in time for the confetti tunnel all to the chorus of ducks and geese on the river.

A Massive Thank You

I’d like to thank you all of my couples that have laughed at my silly jokes, smiled and said yes when I have suggested doing something because it will be a great shot. To those that followed my enthusiasm for golden hour, I am grateful. Huge thanks to all those couples, in the darker months, that stood outside in the cold while I’ve set up my speed lights and then giggled like mad at seeing the great results.  I’d especially like to thank Emily & James for braving the freezing January cold while I took atmospheric back lit photos of them at Poets House in Ely.

All of my couples have made me feel so welcome and it has been an honour to be part of their special day. However, don’t take my word for it, see what my couples say about working with me. Click here to read my reviews

This Bedford wedding photographer loves every minute of her work. My eyes have filled with tears as my couples have said their vows and you can feel the love they have for each other. I have laughed at the funny anecdotes in the speeches and enjoyed capturing every moment for them to treasure. 2023 has been a great year and I am really excited to see what love, joy and happiness 2024 brings.

Best wishes

Catherine xx
