Poets House Ely, Cambridgeshire wedding – Emily and James

If you’re planning a wedding at Poets House in Ely, Cambridgeshire, you’ll be inspired by this wedding!

Emily and James got married at Poets House, which is a small and intimate hotel in Ely, Cambridgeshire with an amazing view of Ely Cathedral.

It was the most beautiful wedding and even the weather played ball! With bright clear skies and lovely sunshine the perfect chilly winters day.

The wedding

The ceremony was an intimate affair in a beautifully light and airy room. During the ceremony there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It was really emotional.

They decorated the area with snow and wintery touches, which I loved. The reception was in a beautiful room at Poets House – I love this venue because you can totally personalise it. Weddings at Poets House are amazing, because the building is completely stunning.

Why Poets House is a great place to get married

Poets House is perfect for intimate weddings, and is one of the nicest places to get married in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The venue offers amazing food – and the gardens perfect for photos.

One touch that I thought was lovely was that the hotel left a bottle of Prosecco and complimentary chocolates in the room for Emily and James to enjoy when the party was over.

After the ceremony

The couple had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and a DIY photobooth in the evening.  For dinner they had proper wedding grub, and the first dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle. They finished off the evening with a playlist of all their favourite tunes and everyone was on the dance floor throwing shapes.

The couple

Emily wore a stunning lace dress and James looked dapper in a tweed suit. They both looked incredible and so in love, it was a joy to be part of their special day.

The couple got in touch with me last year, and their enquiry was really touching. They said they wanted a relaxed photographer, and I loved that they were up for anything especially when it came to taking the couples portraits.

Advice for planning your wedding at Poets House
