Top Advice: Have An Engagement Photoshoot Or Not?

Though hiring a wedding photographer in Bedfordshire should be a top priority for brides and grooms to have lovely keepsakes of their big day, many feel uncomfortable posing for photos. That’s where my top advice comes from. Engagement photoshoots are perfect for giving both the photographer and the loved-up couple a chance to warm up before the special occasion.

Get used to posing

Unless you’ve done modelling in the past, most of us have little experience being snapped, which can make for some awkward smiles. Having a practice run with an engagement shoot gives brides and grooms the chance to get familiar with posing, or even just get used to having a camera around.

Build a rapport

Wedding days go by in a flash, and the few special moments alone with your new spouse are typically also shared with a wedding photographer. That is why it is a good idea to meet them and build a rapport first.

As Wedding Wire states: “You’ll have a chance to swap stories, share laughs, and get to know each other on a more personal level, all of which helps make the wedding day run that much smoother.”

Use lovely photos for the big day

One of the best things about having an engagement photoshoot is that you get beautiful photos of you as a couple ahead of the big day, which you can use for the invites, website, guest book or as part of the wedding stationery.

Tell your story

While wedding photos will, undoubtedly, be flawless, capturing you looking your best and feeling like a million dollars, the charm of the engagement shoot is its more natural. Wear what you want, choose a location that represents you and use it as a chance to tell guests your story as a couple.
