Dodford Manor weddings are always something special, and Jasmine & Luke’s celebration on the 3rd of November was every bit as magical as you’d imagine. Their day was bursting with energy, laughter, heartfelt moments and—of course—their beloved Rhodesian Ridgeback, Leo, who happily stole the spotlight more than once. From vibrant bridal prep to an electric dance floor finish, this was a wedding overflowing with personality and unforgettable memories.
A Wedding Venue Steeped in History and Surrounded by Countryside Beauty
Before we dive into the story of the day, it’s impossible not to appreciate why Dodford Manor is such a cherished wedding venue. Set amongst rolling Northamptonshire countryside, the estate has a surprisingly rich and fascinating heritage. Its earliest known owners included nobles, knights and even Robert, Count of Mortain—half-brother to William the Conqueror!
Driving down the private entrance feels like stepping back in time. You pass through what was once an ancient hunting and deer park recorded as far back as 1222. The estate later became a manorial seat for a crusading knight before evolving into the Georgian-fronted Grade II listed home and collection of historic barns seen today.
The wedding barns themselves tell their own unique story. The ceremony barn, originally an ironstone threshing barn from the 1680s, has been beautifully restored while retaining its rural charm. The Dairy Barn, dating back to the 1790s, once served as a working hand-milking dairy right up until the 1980s. Many original features are still in place, including remnants of the old hay manger fixed into the ironstone walls. During restoration, the slanted floor—crafted to help farmers wash water downhill—had to be levelled, though the barn still subtly lowers as you walk through, adding a delightful quirk.
Connected to it is the Oak Barn, a breathtaking oak-framed structure that replaced a 1950s barn. Its glazed wall opens up to sweeping countryside views—an incredible backdrop for portraits.
And just behind the barns sits the 12th-century St Mary’s Church, built on even older Saxon foundations. Together, the barns and church create a picturesque, historic setting that photographs beautifully in every season.

Bridal Prep Full of Fun, Laughter & Beautiful Chaos
Jasmine’s bridal prep set the tone for the whole day: joyful, lively and overflowing with excitement. The room buzzed with laughter as her bridal party danced around, touched up makeup, shared stories and enjoyed a steady flow of bubbles. The atmosphere was warm, supportive and full of the kind of candid moments that photographers dream about capturing.

A Ceremony Filled With Love, Laughter & Leo
Inside Dodford Manor’s ceremony barn, guests gathered under the warm glow of the rustic beams as Jasmine floated down the aisle, beaming. Luke’s expression said everything—love, admiration and just a pinch of disbelief that this incredible moment had finally arrived.
But the star entrance belonged to Leo, their Rhodesian Ridgeback, who happily strutted in with all the confidence of a dog who knows he’s adored. His presence added charm, humour and plenty of “awww” moments.
The ceremony was packed with laughter, genuine emotion and the kind of storytelling that perfectly captured Jasmine and Luke’s relationship.

Stunning Autumn Couples Portraits at Dodford Manor
After the ceremony, we wandered out into the soft November light for couples portraits. Dodford Manor’s sweeping fields, weathered stone and elegant oak architecture created a spectacular backdrop. Jasmine and Luke were effortlessly natural together—relaxed, romantic and clearly still riding the emotional high of the ceremony.
The autumn tones, gentle breeze and golden countryside gave us the dreamiest setting. Every corner of the venue offered something different, allowing us to create a gallery full of variety and warmth.

Speeches Packed With Love (and Lots of Laughs)
nstead of the traditional groom and best man speeches, Jasmine & Luke took a wonderfully personal approach. The speeches came from the bride’s mum, the bride’s dad, Jasmine herself and her sister—each one heartfelt, honest and packed with laughter.
They shared family memories, funny stories and touching tributes. These moments created wonderful opportunities for candid photos of guests wiping away tears, throwing their heads back in laughter and squeezing hands across tables.

The Champagne Spray to End All Champagne Sprays
Just before the evening celebrations kicked off, we snuck outside for a champagne spray — and wow, did Jasmine & Luke commit! The cork flew, the fizz exploded everywhere, and the resulting laughter echoed across the courtyard.
Everyone got soaked (including me!), but it was 100% worth it for the unbelievably fun photos.

Tearing Up the Dance Floor
When the evening party started, they hit the dance floor with serious enthusiasm. From the first track, the barn was packed — twirling dresses, wild dance moves, and guests who clearly came determined to celebrate in style.
The DJ kept the energy high all night, and Jasmine & Luke never stopped smiling. From big group numbers to intimate slow dances, the dance floor was a joy to capture.
