Faye and Luke’s Day
When it comes to wedding photographer love stories, this one is right up there! On 30th July 2025, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Faye & Luke’s incredible wedding at the Granary Estates wedding venue in Newmarket. From emotional first looks to a champagne pop that took two tries (worth every giggle!), their day was full of laughter, love, and the kind of memories you want to relive over and over.
I really enjoy photographing weddings at the Granary Estates wedding venue, so I thought I’d take you through Faye and Luke’s fantastic special day to explain why. I hope you enjoy!
Getting Ready: Excitement & Laughter
The morning was buzzing with fun as everyone got ready.
One of the things I love about the Granary Estates wedding venue is the accommodation they have available. The Granary Cottages are perfect for the bridal party to use and are just a short stroll down a pretty driveway to the barns. The lighting is perfect too, for capturing those first moments when the bride sees herself in the mirror.
Faye shared some truly special first-look moments with her nearest and dearest. There were tears, there was laughter, and there was so much love in the air. These are always some of my favourite parts of the day to photograph; the anticipation is real, and you can feel the emotion building before the “I do’s.”
The Ceremony in the Flint Barn

Granary Estates wedding venue is the perfect blend of rustic charm with elegant character. They offer their couples 3 different spaces to choose from for their wedding ceremony. There is the largest space, The Granary Barn, The Flint Bar, for smaller, more intimate weddings, and The Courtyard Garden, perfect for glorious summer days!
Faye & Luke chose to say their vows in the beautiful Flint Barn, under twinkling fairy lights carefully fitted along the old oak beams. The pale blue bridesmaid dresses, picked out in Faye’s bouquet, and the men’s ties, added just the right splash of colour to proceedings. The atmosphere was intimate, emotional, and filled with joy as family and friends gathered to watch them tie the knot.
From a photographer’s perspective, Granary Estates wedding venue offers a wonderful space for photographs. The light streaming through the barn’s windows made for the dreamiest ceremony shots. Combine the lighting with the picturesque beams, and you would be forgiven for thinking you had stepped into a page from a fairy story.
Drinks Reception in the Gardens
After the confetti had settled, it was time for the drinks reception in the Granary Estates’ stunning gardens. Guests mingled with fizz in hand while I captured plenty of natural, candid photographs. Freezing moments in time is a true bonus of my profession. The hugs, laughter, and all the little interactions that make the day feel so alive are often snapshots of the day that a busy bride and groom can miss. These photos will be the perfect reminders of a special time spent with their loved ones.
Naturally, we also took a few formal images. The outdoor spaces at the Granary Estates wedding venue lend themselves perfectly to this task. There was even enough room to capture a full gathering with gorgeous trees in the background!
Speeches Filled with Love (and a Few Tears!)
The speeches were heartfelt, funny, and full of love. From proud parents to cheeky groomsmen anecdotes, there wasn’t a dry eye—or an empty glass—in the room. I adore capturing these moments: the belly laughs, the tender glances, and the pride radiating from loved ones. It really is a privilege, as a wedding photographer, to share these exclusive moments with brides and grooms; I never take that for granted.
The room looked spectacular. Beautifully laid out, the team at the Granary Estates wedding venue were attentive, friendly, and professional. I also know that the venue offers a ‘prop shop‘ to help dress the rooms. What a great idea to have everything under one roof!
Fun with the Groomsmen & Bridal Party
Of course, no wedding is complete without a little mischief from the bridal party! Faye & Luke’s crew brought the fun, from group portraits full of personality to some slightly questionable poses that had everyone in stitches. And let’s not forget the champagne pop—Luke nailed it on the second attempt, and the reactions were priceless!
Naturally, we were spoilt for choice for backdrops. From natural barn walls to rolling meadows, the settings were perfect to capture a lovely array of images for my lovely couple.
Golden Hour Couples Shoot
As the sun began to dip, Faye, Luke and I stole away into the fields for some golden hour photos. These fields, at the Granary Estates wedding venue, are special. Depending on the time of year, they can offer a spectacular setting for romantic photos.

This time of day is pure magic. The light was soft, golden, and absolutely perfect for capturing romantic photos of Faye & Luke together. These are the kind of images that couples treasure forever, the ones often turned into pieces of artwork, on a canvas or framed. They are the ones which really show the love and joy of the day.
A Party to Remember
Soon, we rejoined the party! When the music started, the energy soared! The evening kicked off with the most unforgettable Father/Daughter dance to ‘Insomnia’ by Faithless—a surprise that had everyone cheering and set the tone for the night. From then on, it was non-stop dancing, laughter, and the kind of party vibes the Granary Estates wedding venue is known for.
